Top 7 Teacher Gifts

As the school year draws to a close & plans for the summer start to roll in first we give thanks to those that have taught, nurtured, helped & watched our little monkeys grow over the year.

With our little & big ones teachers in mind I asked all the teachers & teaching assistants I know what their favourite gifts they've been given are to help take the guess work out & make the end of year gift giving go smoothly.

It seems we've all been doing things right all these years & the personalised items are actually loved & are not 'oh another one' type of things, which is great for a crafty gal like me! So without further ado here's my top 7 given by teachers themselves for you!

1. Alcohol(!)

Yep the majority loved being given a bottle of wine or brandy for the gents. To make these even better you can get a personalised bottle sticker with your child's name & a message on too. I love these labels from etsy, 'Our child might be the reason you drink, so have one on us' Brilliant!

2. Cups

Cups were next on the list. With these you can get really creative, one told me that her class knew she loved skittles so they stuffed as many bags as the could into the cup, she said its one of the best gifts she got. Going that little extra mile makes a big difference! In the cup range you could also for for a travel mug or if the teacher is fond of exercising perhaps a nice water bottle, you could personalise them to give that extra touch.

3. Gift Vouchers -

If you collect as a class to give something bigger gift vouchers are most appreciated. Even more so when bought for that teachers favourite store. One teacher said 'My class got together to get me a monsoon voucher. I bought a dress and I think of them every time I wear it.' how lovely is that!

4. Personalised items -

Next on our top 7 teacher gifts are Personalised items which were mentioned by all! Whether they be handmade by little fingers or purchased with a thoughtful message. Favourites included a jewellery box saying "Thank you Miss C", a personalised photo frame with an image of the class in it, hand painted photo frame with your childs image inside, personalised keyring, the list really is endless. 4. Pandora (or similar) Charm/Jewellery Item -

Another great one for whole class collection gifts. Paying attention to what your little ones teacher likes to wear can go a long way in making them feel appreciated. One of the teachers I asked is a drama teacher & at the end of the year her class bought her a theatrical face charm for her bracelet rendering it such a priceless & thoughtful gift that is so loved.

5. Coffee Shop Voucher -

A Costa coffee voucher was mentioned a few times too, personally I'm a Starbucks girl & would love it if I was gifted with a voucher. Whats better than going to your favourite coffee shop on a quiet day with your book & sitting & enjoying a peaceful cuppa ;)

6. A Mini Hamper -

Mini hampers are very well received by teachers. Little thoughtful gifts in miniature size added into a little bucket/basket is a gift that keeps on giving! Here's some ideas for you;

This is fab for those little ones that love to paint & is very inexpensive. You could put a range of things on your pot my favourite is "Thank you for helping me grow, I'll miss you now its time to go" simple but lovely!
